Ideal Home Show at Christmas
Date: 19-23 November 2014, 10am-6pm everyday
Location: Earls Court, London
The multi award-winning Ideal Home Show at Christmas returns with the ultimate festive shopping experience, where you can find everything on your Christmas list all under one roof; from decorations and hand crafted gifts, to turkey, festive fizz and Christmas puddings, to furniture, DIY solutions and New Year home projects not to mention live demonstrations, entertainment, Ice skating and celebrity appearances!  We'll be there on stand 1B108 with our range of delicious candles and lots of amazing promos!

The Christmas Market
Date: 30 November 2014, 9.30am-5pm
Location: The Vale Resort, Hensol, South Wales
Warm festive fun at The Christmas Market with lots of festive treats, stocking fillers and Christmas fun.  Look out for our stand full of wonderful fragranced goodies!

Llantrisant Christmas Event
Date: 3 December 2014, 2pm-7pm
Location: Llantrisant town
A repeat visit to Llantrisant Christmas market for us after such a successful event last year.  Lots of craft and food stalls, funfair, a visit from Father Christmas and a lovely carol service to round off the evening.  Perfect!


Christmas Pop-Up Shop
Date: 5-6 December 2014, 9.30am-5pm everyday
Location: Flamingo Candles, Unit 2 Gelligron Industrial Estate, Tonyrefail, CF39 8ES
This is our favourite event of the year!  We open our own premises for a makeshift pop-up full to the brim of Flamingo Candles, Scent Melts, Christmas bundle offers, extra special promotions, a sneak peek of our new ranges and of course, some mulled wine.  We can't wait!

Flamingo Candles Christmas 2014

IT'S HERE! The Christmas 2014 collection has landed and is a scrumptious delight for the senses.  Christmas represents such a wide variety of aromas and scents, we were completely spoilt for choice as we sought inspiration across so many festive traditions.  To design a fragrance collection for this season is an absolute dream and our gorgeous trio of Christmas candles encapsulates the mood entirely.

Available in our Classic Jar Candles and Scent Melts, our Christmas 2014 fragrances include: Mulled Wine & Berries, Chocolate Orange, Vanilla & Spice.

Mulled Wine & Berries
Rich and warm, Mulled Wine & Berries is a seasonal accord recalling mulled wine and including apple, sweet berries, wine, brandy, orange, clove, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla.

Chocolate Orange

Sweet and tempting, Chocolate Orange is a delicious fragrance combining milk chocolate and sweet orange notes, resting on a delicate vanilla base.

Vanilla & Spice

Spicy and rich, Vanilla and Spice is an edible smelling accord of cream vanilla in harmony with cinnamon bark and clove buds with supporting notes of tonka bean, Peru balsam, coconut, pineapple and benzoin.

Flamingo Candles Halloween 2014

We love Halloween (who doesn't?!) and so we relish in creating our Halloween Candles.  This is the second collection and, dare we say, even better than last year's sell-out range.

Our limited edition Halloween micro collection is a real treat with three different fragrances in three spooky colourways to delight and indulge the senses.

Orange & Nutmeg Halloween Candle
Sultry and aromatic, Orange and Nutmeg is a citrus fragrance with orange and spicy woody garland with grated nutmeg freshly sliced ginger, winter juniper berries and cardmon seeds lifted by Sicilian winter lemons top notes followed by a floral and herbal heart with thyme, lavender and warm spices is smoothed by dark woods and cool amber.

Cinnamon Appleberry Halloween Candle
Sweet and comforting, Cinnamon Appleberry is a delicious blend of tart, juicy apples and sweet strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries laced with a cinnamon glow.

Aniseed Halloween Candle
Sweet and warm, Aniseed is a fragrance with sharp, herbaceous accents of fennel and tarragon.

Flamingo Candles Autumn 2014

It's an absolute pleasure to introduce our delicious new autumn collection.  Launched on our website today, this range of scrumptious fragrances is our best yet!

Here's our autumn 2014 fragrance guide:

Blackberry & Bay Leaf

Fresh and energetic, Blackberry and Bay Leaf is a floral fragrance with blackcurrant, lemon and green leaves leading to a heart of lily of the valley and precious woods.

Amber & Lavender

Rich and smooth, Amber and Lavender opens with cool bergamot, lemon, lime and lavender enhanced by basil and geranium. A heart of warm spices, rose and fern is supported by a sumptuous base of patchouli, moss, tonka, vanilla and amber.

White Lilac & Rhubarb

Floral and fruity, White Lilac & Rhubarb fragrance opens with green apple and sweet rhubarb notes, followed by rose, lily and lilac and violet on a base of musk.

Applecurrant Crumble

It's Pancake Day!

We never need any encouragement in the eating of pancakes, but naturally with it being Pancake Day today we can really go for it!  Pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner?  You betcha!

Here's a little recipe we found which we're desperate to try - strawberry, almond and caramel pancakes!  To.die.for.

Serves 4 (2 pancakes each)

A truly indulgent pancake recipe. Ideal for breakfast or dessert, the strawberry, caramel and yoghurt topping is also delicious on waffles or slices of Madeira cake.

Cooking time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients:

For the pancakes:

100g flour

2 eggs, beaten

300ml milk

Oil for frying

For the filling:

20 Viva strawberries, chopped

2tsp sugar

1 tbsp caramel sauce

300ml Greek yoghurt

2 tbsp, heaped, toasted almonds

Method:

In a bowl, sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries and leave to macerate while you make the pancakes. Switch your oven on to a low heat.

Place the flour in a bowl and gently whisk in the milk and eggs so you have a lump free batter. It should be the consistency of single cream.

Heat a medium sized frying pan on a medium heat then wipe it with oil. Ladle enough batter into the pan to coat the base with an even, thin layer when you tilt it around the pan.

Leave the batter to stand until the top side looks dry and the bottom is golden, usually around 30 seconds. Using a fish slice or a flick of the wrist, turn or flip the pancake to cook the other side. Once cooked pop it on a plate, cover with foil and keep it warm in the oven. Repeat this until all the batter is used up and you have a pile of pancakes. Gently fold the juicy strawberries and caramel through the yoghurt till it just ripples. Serve 2 pancakes per person topped with a dollop of the yoghurt mixture and scatter with almonds.

S/S 2014 - Aromatherapy Range

Our latest Spring 2014 collection is a little more sophisticated than our usual, bright, vivid offering.  The Aromatherapy Range is a trio of luxury, natural soy wax candles made with pure essential oils.  Their soft glow, burning in harmony with therapeutic, sensuous fragrances, creates an ambience to relax, pamper and uplift spirits.  

Currently there are three candles in the range - Uplifting, Relaxing and Dream.  Each one is individually designed and poured with specific essential oils to create the desired effect.

Re-energise your body and mind with this uplifting blend of peppermint, bergamot, eucalyptus and ylang ylang.

Spring Fair 2014

Last week we exhibited at one of the largest international trade shows - Spring Fair.  Held at the NEC, in Birmingham, this show is an absolute BEAST!  Wandering around the twenty halls of gifts, interiors, toys, partyware, body & bath, furniture, cookware leaves you feeling mesmerised and quite frankly, absolutely worn out.  With so much gorgeous product on display, we're not sure whether to envy or pity buyers!

Our stand was situated in the Contemporary Gift & Home hall which, as you can imagine, was full to bursting with the latest, inspirational, trend-led designs.  We showcased our latest Candy Shop collection and the upcoming Aromatherapy and general spring lines.  Trade shows present a fantastic opportunity to gain feedback on our ranges and to see what the all-important buyers think of our product.  We had so many positive comments which reflected in our overall success at the show.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited us, show neighbours, new/old stockists and everyone else!

Spring 2014 has most definitely sprung at Flamingo Candles!  The launch of our much-anticipated Candy Shop collection marks the start of a glorious new season here at Camp Flamingo.
